FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT (FCA)

We conduct Functional Capacity Assessment using standardised and non-standardised tools to identify support needs for a person to be independently and safely living in the community. The assessment can be used for identifying the needs for the current NDIS plan and future needs for NDIS plan review.

Functional Capacity Assessment Components

Our reports are in alignment with the International Classification Framework (ICF), which includes communication, social interaction, learning, mobility, self-care and self-management. The framework has  directly influenced the NDIS policy framework.

The report covers, but not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Current and past medical history
  2. Formal and informal support
  3. Living arrangements
  4. Home assessment
  5. Assessment of activities of daily living  (ADLs), such as mobility, showering, cooking, money management
  6. Cognitive screening/assessment
  7. Leisure activities
  8. Psychosocial skills assessment
